Walking The Earth - Swissarena (Grosstes Luftbild des Landes), Verkehrshaus, Luzern
This is a 200 square metre aerial photograph of Switzerland set into the floor of the Swissarena Gallery at the Verkehrshaus (National Transport Museum) in Luzern - a sort of low-tech version of Google Earth(!)
I have been given the gift of six months to prepare for acceptance or denial of weight loos surgery...I get to see a physical therapist, nutritionist, and weight loos counselor once a month...
I am to walk, cycle, or do an exercise video four time a week, and go to the gym and work out three times a week.
Food and caloric intake will be adjusted...support offered... and we will see how hard I can push myself...
I mean, given the choice, wouldn't you rather not have surgery?
So if I can motivate myself to keep up, and if my results are good... instead of surgery, I will be allowed to continue with the monthly maintenance until I reach a more healthy BMI....
So I have to keep telling myself, that walking and exercising won't generally kill me, but surgery could!
I have been walking at least twenty five minutes every day... even saw a few of the neighbors!
DH got the big stroller back up and running so I can comfortably take the DGD out for my much enjoyed walks....My best buddy in the world Linda, had generously offered to drag, I mean take me out on hikes once a week.
My feet hurt, my legs are complaining, but I do fell better....
I have been monitoring my blood sugars, and will most likely need to adjust my meds along with the food and exercise, but that is a good thing....
Now if I could just magically get a Jacuzzi in the back yard, that would be the icing on the proverbial cake!
Just keep walking!
Just keep walking!
Just keep walkin
Listen deeply for what
your soul already knows,
weave your overdlowing
love for the earth
into your dailty life.
into your dailty life.
